Unboxing of The Althea Petal Velvet Powder

My favorite Korean Beauty Store has finally launched their very own product range and the first item they introduced is this Althea Petal Velvet Powder!

I received this PR kit earlier this month and I was so excited when it finally came to my doorstep! The package came in Althea's signature pink box in the smallest size and inside was some of the cutest things I've ever seen! This package won my heart easily. ❤

This debuting beauty is a translucent powder that sets makeup and leaves behind a silky smooth finish to the touch. Velvety, baby soft skin? Achieved!

If you didn't know yet, Althea (the site's namesake) is a flower and it was used as one of the ingredients for this product. This is infused with oil from Althea seeds and has a hundred percent silica that has excellent oil-absorbing properties. This powder works to keep sebum production at bay without drying out the skin and is specially formulated to have the same elasticity as the skin to keep your makeup looking perfect without caking.

The best thing about this powder is that it's formulated with natural, CRUELTY-FREE ingredients. It is also noncomedogenic and has anti-ageing properties that repair and restore damaged skin cells.

I decided to try this powder out for a good amount of time so that I can really write an honest review about it. I have used it to set my cushion foundation and I have also used it just by itself. There is so much to love about this product and I am here to tell you why.

Let's get to the review...

PACKAGING

First off, let's start with appearances. Packaging makes or breaks the product, at least that's how it is for some people. The product comes in a simple pink box, one that resembles the signature Althea box. The powder is contained inside a frosted plastic container with a pink cover that has an "A" on it. I loved it. Truly, simplicity is beauty.

CONTENT

The product comes in 3g and comes with a fluffy powder puff that is so soft, I cannot get enough of it! And although you would think that 3g is such a small amount, you're quite right. But, a little goes a long way. You do not need to apply a lot of it, that's for sure.

TEXTURE

Althea promises that this product has micro-fine particles and yes, this product does. The loose powder is so fine, it sinks into your skin in no time. No powdery cast can be seen, it's as translucent as Althea promises it to be.

SMELL

The powder has a subtle feminine, flowery fragrance that is not overpowering and I love it.

APPLICATION

This product delivers! Everything that Althea says about it is true. I love it, so much, that is has become a staple in my makeup routine.

PRICE

This is priced at 210 pesos. And for a 3g product, some would say that it's too pricey. My thoughts? This is worth your money. As I have said, a little goes a long way. I don't put makeup on a regular basis so I think this powder would last me a good 2 to 3 months, maybe. Not bad, right? And with great ingredients, this would totally be so worth it.

The Verdict: ❤❤❤❤❤

It's a 4.7 out of 5! This powder has always left my face feeling so smooth after I apply it. I love how it tames my oily t-zone. I wear this one for the whole day and I only do touch-ups once. It's an amazing product and I am so glad Althea gave me the chance to try this out. The only thing that bothers me is how the white powder puff can be easily stained with the cushion I'm using. But other than that, I have no issues.

Here are some products that I usually use with the Althea Petal Velvet Powder.

When I'm not feeling fancy, I skip out on putting a cushion foundation. After I apply my favorite sunscreen, I use the Petal Velvet Powder. I follow it with my current fave mascara from Missha and this Belle Journee Tattoo Tint for a fresh look. And that's it, I'm ready to face the day!

This powder can be purchased at the Althea site. And it's still available! I hope this review gave you information to know more about this product and help you in deciding to get it or not. Thank you so much for reading!
