Pagudpud | The Patapat Viaduct

Monday, September 5, 2016 Patapat Bridge, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, Philippines

After taking a dip at the famous Blue Lagoon Beach at Hannah's Beach Resort, the girls and I changed and packed up to explore Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte more. Next stop for the day was the Patapat Viaduct.

The Famous Patapat Viaduct

The Patapat bridge is elevated 31 meters above the sea level. It is a concrete coastal bridge 1.3 km long and connects the Maharlika Highway from Laoag, Ilocos Norte to the Cagayan Valley Region. The viaduct is the fourth longest bridge in the country. (source)

The view was exquisite as we parked our rented car along the roadside. The girls and I can't resist taking a lot of pictures. We did solo "OOTD" pics, jump shot pics, group pics, so many picsss, hahaha!

Nothing much can really be done out here but to soul-search, relax and just enjoy the scenery. We were here just for just about 30 minutes. There were other tourists here, too, taking their pictures and laughing together along the highway.

The highway

It was a sight to see. This place is proof that a man-made structure can coincide with nature and the beauty was just noteworthy. Passersby may neglect how beautiful this architecture is but I hope they will be conscientious enough to preserve and protect it.

And of course, I wouldn't miss the chance to have this "obligatory" photograph, hahaha!

Itching to travel to the north yet? You have got to read all about my Byaheng Ilocos Series if you are still doubting. I'll put the links below. :D

Laoag City: La Paz Sand Dunes

I hope you enjoy reading them! Stay tuned, next post will be our visit to the giants of Ilocos - the windmills!
